The Inner Temple London

Inner Temple, one of the four Inns of Court, can trace its origins back to the 12th century. The latest hall was built after the Blitz to original designs by Hubert Worthington which were completed under the supervision of Sir Edward Maufe in 1955.

The ‘Pegasus’ project involved two different parts of the building, refurbishing the Hall and creating a high-quality Education and Training Centre, with an auditorium, training rooms and break-out space. It also involved improvement to the catering facilities.

Luke Hughes is responsible for upgrading the furniture for the Dining Hall and for designing and supplying all the supporting pieces for the auditorium and training rooms. The biggest design challenge was remaking all the Hall tables so the whole ensemble can be knocked down, disassembled and stored in cabinets matching the wainscot panelling – one of thirty similar dining hall projects now in our portfolio.
